I am a resident of Ankeny, and I can tell you this community really has it going on when it comes to "PLAY". Their video really represents all the activities there are for all the different age groups. I hope they get a new climbing wall with the grant money, because my family would use it at every availalbe opportunity. Keep up the good work Ankeny.

Ankeny is a close-knit community that enjoys having fun. The title of the video, "Play At Any Age" demonstrates that Ankeny residents of all ages come together to laugh, learn and play.

Since moving to Ankeny I have gotten to see, first hand, a community’s dedication to “PLAY”. It is a great community to live in and their Parks & Recreation Department continues to offer a variety of unique program opportunities and special events.

Tuffy, My husband and I are lifetime residents of Ankeny and we have chosen to stay here to raise our children. As childen we grew up with the close-knit community and all that it has to offer and now our children are growing up with the same. We love what the Parks & Recreation Department offers to the young, middle, and older community residents. Keep up the great work.

The City of Ankeny is excelling at promoting play, healthy lifestyles, and quality parks and facilities. The Parks & Recreation Department is adding great programs, which are focused on youth and curbing the obesity epidemic through healthy play. Hats off to the Parks & Recreation Department, Park Board, and CIty Council for their proactive support of parks/recreation. Let's keep the momentum moving forward!

Ankeny's video is awesome! Go ahead, register and vote. It's easy to do and only takes a couple of minutes! The video showcases the best of our city's recreational activities! Ankeny is truly a wonderful place to live and "play at any age". Wouldn't a climbing wall be a great addition to the community? Please vote so we can win the grant!

I have grown up in Ankeny and want my kids to grow up in Ankeny. I could have moved elsewhere after college but I elected to live in ANKENY because it is a great place to live and a great place to raise a family. A climbing wall would be a great addition. I know my kids would love it. I may even give it a try.

Ankeny is a fantastic place to PLAY! The facilities are outstanding and I've never seen so many parks with different play equipment in one community! We've live there 14 years and still haven't 'found' all of them! The new bike trail is great and I can't wait for more!

Ankeny is very family friendly. This is the main reason that my husband & I, who both grew up in Ankeny, made it a priority to raise our family in this great city. There are so many great opportunities to "play at any age". I always look forward to receiving the city's Parks & Rec activity booklet to see all the great events/activites that are available to our family. I think the city is doing a great job and I hope everybody will vote to support their efforts to provide another great addition - a rock wall.

The City of Ankeny makes it very easy for our entire family to be active. Standard and innovative events for our kids, for us, and for our entire family are always available. We have met allot of great people who also "just want to have fun" being active. With my husband's job we have moved frequently and Ankeny is by far the most "Playful" city in which we have lived!

Ankeny is a very tight community that sticks together. I love Ankeny and the schools are great! There are lots of "Play" activiites for the children all year long and also lots for the adults to do. There are plenty of new homes and existing homes on the market so we have more room for people to move into Ankeny so they can enjoy the Ankeny Life as well!

From parks to programs to people it doesn't get any better than Ankeny, Iowa. Ankeny cares about the community and wants a quality of life for their families to make it more than just a place to live, but a place to call home.

Ankeny is a great place to play, shop, and get involved in about any king of activity that grabs your interest - whether you are an adult , youth or a child. We've lived in Ankeny for almost 40 years and have seen it grow approximately 700% in that time. Our children have chosen to live in Ankeny and that has allowed us stay closely in touch with the grandchildren as they progress through early childhood and enter the Ankeny schools - one of the best school districts in the state.

Ankeny has it all. Period. I have lived here for 32 years and have seen it grow from a little suburb into a large COMMUNITY that still has that small town feel . There is something for everyone...terrific schools, great recreation and community education, many churches, shopping, three Starbucks! What more could you ask for??

After serving on the City of Ankeny's Parks and Recreation Board for several years, I felt as close to 'the pulse' of our city's commitment to recreation as anyone. I moved to Ankeny when it was a 'nice little suburb' of 10,000 population. Now, as we approach 40,000, a big reason for that is quite simpley 'quality of life'!! I feel one of the keys has been a good parks system with very diligent comprehensive planning. Obviously, I prejudiced, but my 'hat's off'' to Ankeny---I know our future is very bright!!

Ankeny is an awesome city in which to play! My children have been swimming since the age of 5 and competing on the AquaHawk Swim Team. They wrestle, ride bikes and kick scooters, and rollerblade. We participate in as many city activities as possible! The number and variety of opportunities available in Ankeny negate the overweight, 'couch potato' phenomenon present in so many individuals (especially for the young) today!
