The City of Lake Worth desperately needs soccer spaces to accomodate its children. The town has a population of 35,000 people and one soccer field unsuitable for children, our hope is to convert neglected courts into suitable and safe play spaces.

Please help the City of Lake Worth by allocating funds towards more soccer fields for our community. Our area has had an increase in gang violence and I hope more activities for our young children will help keep them away from gangs and teach them to work and play as a team. THANK YOU for you consideration.

The City of Lake Worth faces many challenges and one of the most important is providing positive recreational outlets for our youth. Receiving a grant of this size represents more of an impact here than other communities with more resources. Funding of the grant would make a big improvement in the City's quality of life for all of its residents.

Great idea. The kids need all they can get.

What a wonderful opportunity to provide recreational facilities for hundreds of children in Lake Worth! Positive outlets are so needed for our community's youth. Please support our quest for funds to improve the quality of life for so many! Thank you.

It is a wonderful idea, and I am very happy that our Mayor is getting involved with programs for the progress of Lake Worth and their citizens, but principaly our children, kudos for our Mayor.

This will be the start of something great, recretional grounds for the hundred of children in our community.

HCRobinson commented 12/09/2007

The recreation board is to be commended for this project. Lake Worth has needed additional soccer facilities for years. Efforts to secure funding to ensure that soccer fields get built should be supported by every person who says that they love living in Lake Worth.

Where is it -- how much does it cost-- will the funds for future leagues come from the private sector ?

Jenifer commented 12/12/2007

YES! Children off the streets, playing in proper fields instead of glued to TV or videos,
getting exercise and socialization, interacting with others from all cultures and walks-of-life. And paid for with a grant. What could be better? Yes, yes and YES!

DavidS commented 12/12/2007

...and perhaps a Youth Soccer League could follow the new fields to play on. Great project, thanks to all who have been involved in moving this project forward.

An international sport played in a melting pot of cultural diversity is a means for unity.
