Dothan is a fast growning Urban city located in the southern end of the state in Alabama. Dothan has hosted several national sports youth league events to include softball, basketball, swim teams and much more. Dothan is a great place to live.

There's always something fun, physical, entertaining, and new to do. My three kids and wife are always active, involved, and playing in Dothan! New housing developments are springing up every day and thus so is the need to continue building parks and recreation outlets for our kids! Go, Play - Dothan!!!

No better festivals and events to "play Dothan" in than our city's! Downtown Christmas, Family 4th Celebration, Johnny Mack Brown, Festival of Murals, Tri-State BBQ Festival and SO MUCH MORE! We get to play all the time :-) how great is that?

I can only imagine the hard work that goes into planning and constructing a new playground. Thanks to the City of Dothan for persuing the Playful City USA program. Our children are our future and we need to continue to give them new and exciting places to play. PLAY DOTHAN!

Our family is in its 5th generation of playing-dothan! We love our city. Dothan is home to unique festivals, artists such as Jeannie Maddox and John Christian, first-class sporting facilities which including hosting Little League Series and state swimming events, and a great education system. We're a small town in a bigger city body! Come visit soon!

The KAZOOS are actually symbolic to the whole Kaboom Project. When Dothan was solicited to be a playful city, the commissioners and playground commission were given KAZOOS from the KABOOM folks. They have to blow them at various public places. So, the Kaboom people know what the kazoos are about. Its playful! And I care about this project and Dothan and can comment every day if I like!

Dothan is a great place to raise a kid, and Dothan Leisure Services does their best to keep it that way! My son's favorite DLS program is the Dothan Dolphins Swim Team. He and four other teammates qualified for the Southeastern Swimming Championships last year in Nashville, Tennessee. Can you tell I'm a proud Dad?

Dothan has always been known for its Leisure Services Department and the part that the staff, Commissioners and Mayor have played in making this a playful city. The city has always strived to have leadership at the head of this organization that was knowledgeable in administrative affairs. Good luck in the KaBoom competition and the advancement of the parks and recreation effort of the City.
